I’m sure Pete wanted the head coaching position at Richmond, but his application was lost in the holiday mail.
The Richmond Spiders and the Virginia Cavaliers played swap the coaches again. Virginia hired Richmond’s Mike London for its opening and the Spiders responded by hiring Virginia assistant Latrell Scott.
The unofficial coach exchange program between the schools started two years ago when Mike London was hired away from UVA. The Cavaliers returned the favor by stealing London back after Al Groh was fired at the end of this season. So it is only fair that Richmond retaliated by hiring Scott.
Only an hour’s drive on I-64 separates the schools.
By the way, we would like to invite at least half the USC marching band to Richmond even though Carroll didn’t make the cut. We inaugurate our new on-campus stadium next year and would appreciate the marching Trojans’ participation.
As for the marching band, how do Spiders march?
Pretty fast when being chased.
