A Village to Village Exclusive….

Irritated by all those CD2 campaign flyers, which keep showing up at your door? Been commenting on all the money spent on those glossy 4 color spreads you’ve been throwing in the garbage?

Well, the Krekorian Campaign has found a new way to put all those Essel Campaign flyers you have been getting to good use.  They have started a special recycling program. Paul Krekorian is expected to announce the new endeavor at tonight’s debate.

Residents are asked to bring their Essel Mail to one of the two Krekorian campaign offices.  They will take care of the recycling and donate the proceeds to a local holiday toy drive.

Over 100 piece of mail have already been donated to the cause. According to a campaign spokesperson, “people have been inundated with mail and we want to make sure it’s put to good use.”

So in these recessionary times, help make the holidays special for our local children.

The Krekorian Campaign offices are located at:

13063 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91606                                                Office Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week

10019 Commerce Ave. Tujunga, CA 91042                                                    Office Hours: 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday – Friday                                    10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday

People are welcome to come by either location at any point.

Perhaps I should say Dubai Dubai Debt in Deep Doo Doo (say that fast).

Dubai has a major stake in a handful of luxury commercial properties in the United States, including hotels in Miami and Las Vegas.

If Dubai restructures its debt, the troubled commercial real estate market in the U S could take a further hit.

The miniscule country also has a major stake in Canada’s Cirque du Soleil. You may recall that the Los Angeles City Council approved a $30 million loan to cover the upgrade to the Kodak Theatre in order to accommodate the group’s long-term stay in Hollywood.

Cirque du Soleil committed $50 million to the project.

While the debt restructuring should not have a direct impact on the popular troupe, it makes you wonder if repayment of the loan could be compromised.

If CIM (the owner of the shopping and entertainment venue at the Kodak Theatre) defaults,  Los Angeles will be the proud owner of a piece of the business.

I’d rather have the cash, thank you.

We need to learn more.

LIES

Probably the best question asked at any forum – especially given how much the residents of CD2 HATE the negative mailers.  (Are you hearing that Essel & Krekorian campaigns? These folks don’t respond well to them. It turns them off big time!)

What are some of the lies being told about you in this campaign?

As we say at Village to Village, the exchange is on videotape. Watch and judge for yourself.

Carpetbagging!                                                                                                                               The issue which won’t go away.                                                                      By now we are all aware both Christine Essel and Paul Krekorian moved into the area to run for the CD2 seat.                                                                           See what happened when they were asked when – prior to this election – did either candidate last live in CD2?

As we say at Village to Village, watch and judge for yourself.

THE SOHA BOMBSHELL

The November 18, 2009 SOHA Forum included what I like to call “that special SOHA seasoning” we had from their primary forum – Candidate to Candidate questions.

Christine Essel referenced the Sacramento Bee’s assertion Paul Krekorian tops the list for Assembly gift takers (in the range of $27,000 over 3 years).  She commented, “yet, you are running as a reformer and outsider. How do you explain taking that number of gifts? That dollar amount of gifts, and that ranking?”

Krekorian pointed out two of the largest expenditures on this list were trips taken on behalf of the state.                                                                                                              NUMBER 1 – South Africa to study energy & infrastructure.                                 NUMBER 2 – Israel as a guest of the Jewish Federation.

The twisted ironic bombshell moment:                                                         While taking Krekorian to task for accepting gifts, it turned out in her previous position at Paramount, Essel had been the one providing the gift. She had hosted and joined Krekorian on a trip to the Hollywood Bowl.

Krekorian fired back, ”Let’s remember for the last 30 years, you have been the special interests. You been the one writing the checks to politicians throughout California and this country, as you fulfilled your jobs as a lobbyist.”

As we say at Village to Village, the exchange is on videotape.                               Watch and judge for yourself.
