The Mayor was stuffed 15-0 by the City Council on Tuesday. Had a mercy rule been in effect, the voting would have been terminated at 11-0.
The Council did not buy into the Mayor’s obvious ruse to salvage the tattered threads of his political career by banking on a bogus green energy program – one that might prop up his rapidly deflating resume.
It must be humbling to be shot down my one of the most inept governing bodies in the nation. That’s really going to impress his pals when he comes calling for an appointment after his term as Mayor ends.
The only thing better would be a formal unequivocal vote of no confidence.
Unfortunately, I do not see that happening. The Council Members would open themselves to criticism for their part in the city’s decline.
